Prismacolor Pencils

I have another Sheena image here. I just adore this little girl, she reminds me of me as a child, although I confess I hated those flouncy dressed my Mum would dress me in, and this one might be a little posher than I was used to! I was that blonde haired brown eyed angel though, PAH!, that didn’t last long, lol
Busy Prismas 1 WM
I have coloured her in with Prismacolour pencils and OMS. This was not my usual card and I found it a lot harder than usual as the card seemed to want to keep hold of the pigment in the pencils and not let me spread it like my normal card does. If there is anyone out there that can recommend an EXCELLENT cardstock for blending the prismas on please either drop me an email or leave me a comment with a link!!
The papers are a combination of a delicious freebie that came with Cardmaking and Papercraft last month, and some Nitwits designs paper. The paper ribbon is made using the EK Success Scroll Chain Punch which I fell in love with the second I saw it. It was punched from plain white card and I coloured it with inks from the Hydrangea Big N Juicy pad. The ribbons, fibres, flower and gems are from my stash.
I am entering her into
Raise The Bar – Oh To Be A Kid Again – Use an image of a child
By The Cute and Girly – Bling it On – Hopefully my glittered flower and gems qualify
Stampin’ For The Weekend – New and Blue – The Blue bit is obvious and the new is covered by the Sheena stamp (newly released) the Kate Night paper, and the scroll chain punch.

Did you spot the cheeky moment?

  1. Hello Lin, many thanks for your kind comment on my Walkies card which I just found.
Your card is really gorgeous - love the stamp and embellishments.
To answer your question about the card I use, it's from a local stationers where I always buy it as it's very smooth and good for Promarker as well as pencil colouring. It's 230 microns and comes from R F Tilney & Son in Worthing (I have no idea if they have an online shop I'm afraid).
Sorry if this isn't a great deal of help. All I can say is I always give card the feel test as I find the smoother, the better lol

  10. What a beautiful card! But, as a Prismacolor virgin, what is OMS?
If I could create cards like yours, I'd love to invest in a set of prismacolors! (Never have been able to resist a beautiful tin of pencils!)

  12. Debo, I couldn't find a blog to answer you on, so I will put my answer here. OMS = odourless mineral spirits. In my case I use a product called Sansodor, but I believe the Americans have a product called Gamsol and another called Zest It. A lot of people also profess success with things like Baby Oil and Goo Gone. You need paper stumps, which are like recyled paper pencils, and you dip them into the OMS and then you blend out the pigment in the pencil so that it spreads across the paper. HTHs hon. If you need any more info if you click on the 'email me' link over there somewhere >>>>> I can correspond with you directly.

  15. Hello Lin, I was stopping by to make a comment on your card for Crafty Cardmakers, but just had to let you know how much I liked this card, too. Lovely colors. I would think your "cheeky moment" was when you said the papers were "some Nimwits papers". Hugs, dj1952
