CCM 159 Go Green

Our challenge at Crafty Cardmakers for the next couple of weeks is Go Green, in honour of St. Patricks Day!

I’m a day late with mine because time ran away from me.

159 Go Green

I started with a sheet of plain green scrapbook paper and then using a Crafters Workshop stencil, Mod Spirals, I added Cracked Pistachio Distress Ink. Leaving the Mod Spirals stencil in place I placed a Prima stencil, Bubbles, over the top and then inked through with Lucky Clover DI. The flowers and grass border were started in a similar fashion, although instead of pre-coloured paper I created my own colour with Spectrum Noir Aquatints, which I stencilled over. I stamped and cut out the three flowers, the middle one I stamped and cut three times so I could layer it up. I used a Spectrum Noir sparkle pen in clear to make the flowers shimmer. The centres of the flowers are dazzlers in mauve just to give a bit of contrast in the mainly green design. The stalks were made with glass flatbacked beads (thank goodness for Hougie fine liner glue!), and the grass is a Sheena Douglass die. Sentiment from Spellbinders. It is matted onto black and then a white embossed background.

This is a slightly different pic because of the light, not sure which I prefer! I guess the real life look is somewhere between the two. Oh how I wish I had a proper photographer’s light box!
