DV 88 Wedding

We have a wedding challenge for you over at Dream Valley and it was perfectly timed for me to create a wedding card for friends of my Daughter who will be getting married later next month, but we would love to see your cards, gifts, altered items, scrap LOs and whatever else wedding you can come up with.

We are sponsored by Lacy Sunshine Stamps.

DV 88 Wedding Front

As you can see, having gotten the Go Kreate dies out for my Hobby Cutz card I was inspired to keep them out to create this one. I used them for the whole card, including the base, which was cut from purple stardream card. The circle dies are the Grand Circles from Spellies, and the mat around Tilda is Tiny Hearts from Marianne.

Tilda is from the 2013 Special Moments collection, and she has been coloured with copics, with touches of glitter and gold pigment pen added later. The flowers and gems were from my stash mostly from Wild Orchid for the flowers and the gems were garlands I think from the Magnolia range, but they have been sitting in a pot for a long time!

The peel offs were from Dawn Bibby’s range which I have had for ever!!! I was so disappointed to discover that the only time Wedding was mentioned on them it has a lower case W so was useless for creating the phrase ‘Wedding Day’ as that really should be capitalised. I do wish people would think before they go into production. However, Special Day was capitalised and so I went with that. I painstakingly applied the sentiment four times and it was only when I picked the card up to move it that I realised I had stuck them on with the card upside down, so they all had to come back off, and start again. Lucily I hadn’t stuck the image down at this point.

The inside was inspired by a piece of art my Daughter has on her wall and which apparently the bridge and groom to be laugh at when they see it, so my Daughter wanted the saying inside their card!

88 Wedding Inside Left

The stamp is from an older Magnolia collection, which I added the Bride and Groom’s names to. I also printed the sentiment around the outside of it. I had several attempts before it all ended up in the right place!

88 Wedding Inside Right

Edwin and the Church were from the Special Moments collection and I coloured them both with copics, with touches of white pen for the highlights on Edwin’s buttonhole and the bouquet he is holding, and gold pigment pen for the cross on the church. I added my own step under Edwin so he looked like he was sitting on something instead of perched in mid air!
