Hi, we are having a Design Team call for the Crafty Cardmakers team over on the blog for the next few weeks. Please pop along and if you want to enter just add DT to your entry into our latest challenge, A World of Fantasy. For that challenge we would love to see your creations that involve either Fairies, Dragons, Unicorns, Goblins or similar fantastical creatures as the MAIN focus of your design.
I should also like to announce the impending launch of a brand new mixed media/altered art style of challenge blog on 5th September at The Mirror Crack’d. We have a really talented team assembled for the new blog and they are already delighting me, as I am sure they will you, with their creative talents.
Anyhow, back to today’s challenge. This post will be quite picture heavy as I find that the lovely Luminarte Silks don’t show up in every light as much as I would like them to!
I made this card for my Son-in-Law’s birthday as he is a huge dragon fan. The dragons are from Chocolate Baroque and I coloured them in with Luminarte Silks, gorgeous transparent, luminescent paints! I also stamped two onto transparent shrink plastic, which I also coloured with Silks and then shrunk them. The fabulous sentiment was part of the same stamp sheet from Chocolate Baroque. The background paper comes from a Dragon CD by Jem’s Designs.
An Inside View
Slightly different angle on the front, to pick up the fabulous shimmer of the Silks.
Just the Dragons
From the Side
The sentiment close up with the shrink plastic dragons
I am entering this into:-
A Creative Romance – Fantasy
Art By Miran – #12 Anything Goes
Chocolate Baroque – Colour Inspiration (not sure if this counts because my blue and green are on the outside, and my red and yellow are on the inside?)
Crafting Musketeers – #16 1,2,3 (1Stamped Sentiment, 2 Shrink Plastic Dragons, 3 Different Stamped Dragons, 2 outside, 1 inside)
Crafts 4 Eternity – #189 Something Old (Have had these stamps for years)

Wow Lin, what a gorgeous card! My guess is that the pictures don't do it justice at all! The colours are so perfect for the fantasy theme and the shrink dragon idea was brilliant! Your Son-in-Law is going to love it! Stunning :)
ReplyDeleteThis is amazing Lin - I bet SIL was really chuffed with this one! I love those paints and glad you took the pics from all angles so that we could see them a little better. Oh and those tiny Shrink Plastic dragons are beautiful too, especially the way they look so translucent on the card.
