DV #130 All Creatures Great and Small

Good morning. Today at Dream Valley we want to see your creatures Great and Small. We are sponsored by Digi Stamp Boutique and I was lucky enough to get to play with one of their cute images, Hetty and Cupcake.

DV 130 All Creatures

I coloured Hetty with copics, adding some glitter to the cake icing and bow. I stencilled through a Stampendous stencil with some burst powders which I had made into paint first rather than adding to a wet card, or adding water later. The die cuts down the side are the new Tattered Lace tuck in dies, and the sentiment is from Spellbinders.

I am entering Hetty into:-

CCM #162 - 1, 2 3

I’m hosting the challenge at Crafty Cardmakers this time around and I would love to see your creations following our 1, 2, 3 theme.

I want to see you use 1 Image, 2 Designer/Pattern Papers and 3 SEPERATE AND DIFFERENT embellishments

We have a fabulous sponsor for this challenge, Woodware Craft Collection with a great prize of a £12 voucher to spend in your favourite Woodware stockist.

161 - 123 A

I created my card using the lovely new Polkadoodles CD rom, Lemonade Fizz. My 1 image and 2 papers both came from this cd. I created the image myself from a frame and an ‘ingredient’ found on the cd, and using my graphics program I created a drop shadow effect around the outer and inner parts of the image.

Both papers and image were printed onto Navigator 120 gsm paper, in my opinion the BEST paper for printing such things! It’s smooth and prints beautifully, plus it’s a really crisp white to start with so you get the best representation of colour that your printer can give you.

I matted the image and papers onto black cardstock. I added some glitter highlights to the flowers in the image with Glamour Dust and a quickie glue pen.

My 3 embellishments are a doily, which I tinted with two different coloured copics to tone in with some of the colours in my papers, a metallic butterfly sticker which I stuck down onto some of the spare Navigator paper and cut out, and the third embellishment is Card Candi.

161 - 123

I couldn’t quite get the light right on this picture, so I have used two slightly different light condition versions. The top one is closer to the correct colours, but the bottom one shows better definition.

I’m entering this into:-

DV 129 Anything Goes

The challenge today at Dream Valley is a lovely easy one of Anything Goes. We are sponsored by both Robyn’s Fetish, and it’s one of their images, Bouquet Bear, that I have used on my card, and also by

129 Anything Goes

I printed the image onto card and then immediately masked it off, and using a zig zag cut out from Craftwork Cards I stencilled through with DInks in Picked Raspberry, Squeezed Lemonade, Twisted Citron and Peacock Feathers. Having coloured in with my copics I matted it onto a slightly larger rectangle, which I had distressed the edges of with the same DI colours, and finally matted that onto a card base I cut myself with Tonic’s Bowscale Dies.

I didn’t like the colour of the boquet when I had finished so I printed the image again and recoloured just the bouquet which I paper pieced over the top of the original.

The sentiment die and scrolly dies were cut from rainbow card in similar colours to the DInks I used, with an extra black layer behind the sentiment to make it stand out a bit better. On reflection I think I should have done the same with the scrolly dies, but sadly I had already stuck them down before I realised.
