Crafty Cardmakers 85 Blooming Images

Our challenge to you for the next two weeks at Crafty Cardmakers is ‘Blooming Images’. We want to see your creations that have a flower, or flowers as the main focal point. So a single rose for example, or a bouquet of flowers, or vase of flowers is fine. A person holding a flower is not!

We are sponsored by both Crafts and Me with three digistamps from their extensive range and also by a mystery donor who has donated a fabulous set of dies….. please see the CCM blog for details.

CCM 85

For my blooming birthday card I have used some digital paper from another of our Sponsors at CCM, The Paper Shelter, from their digital kit called ‘Love Letters’. It seemed just perfect for what I had in mind. The image itself is from Sweet N Sassy. I coloured it with copics, and then cut it out with a spellbinders oval due. I inked around the edges of the image with DI in spun sugar. I couldn’t find any paper to match, so I took one of the colours from the leaves and just coloured the very edge of the scalloped mat and the mat beneath the backing paper in Wax Green copic pen. A few card candi in the corners finished it off.

CCM 85 In-Out

I decorated the inside to match, but instead of an image I stamped a birthday greeting.

Lexi’s Creations 84 Monochrome

Today at Lexi’s Creations we want to see your Monochrome creations. So that’s shades of just one colour. We will, of course, allow skin/hair tones, but otherwise please keep to just mainly one colour.

Lexi 84 Monochrome Main

My card was made for my SIL’s birthday, which happens to be today, Happy Birthday Steve! He is my Mr. Fixit, nearly always when he comes to visit with Emily he ends up wielding a drill, just like the Mo Manning image, so it seemed to suit him.

Lexi 84 Monochrome Image

I have coloured him with copics. The papers are from the DCWV Old Worlde Stack, which has been in my stash since Adam was a lad, or at least it seems that way! I made the pliers and screwdriver from inkjet printable shrink plastic which can be purchased from Crafty Computer Paper. The green twine is actually garden twine I found in the kitchen drawer, and I made a small ball of it to look like a ball of string, cos every man I know has some string somewhere in his DIY kit!

Dream Valley 51 Ribbon and Bling

Our challenge at Dream Valley this time is Ribbons and Bling. Please ensure you have both a ribbon and some bling in order to qualify for our prize which is sponsored by Crafty Ribbons and will be a lovely selection bag of ribbons.

My design was created for a friend’s birthday.

DV Ribbons & Bling

I stamped the Stamps Happen Vogue Silhouette Stamp onto acetate and trimmed it out, and then glittered it on the back. For the ribbon element I tied two matching ribbons around the waist of the dress like a sash, before matting onto purple acetate film. In real life this has a shimmery movement to it a bit like waves on the shore! This was matted onto purple glitter card, and that in turn onto some gorgeous purple holographic mirri and another layer of the purple glitter. I coloured some silver brads with an orange copic to match the orange on the dress.

Sorry for the poor quality picture, as you can imagine with all that bling, and mirri it was very difficult to get a good clear picture

ABC H Happy Birthday

This time at ABC we would like to see your Birthday themed creations. We are sponsored by Saturated Canary with two of their fabulous digi images. The team were also provided with an image to work with and I chose Hayley and Harley.

H HB Card

I made the card and bag below for my Daughter’s birthday. I coloured the image with promarkers and the papers and stickers are from Basic Grey. The sentiment I created on my pc. Sadly, I ran out of time to get the bag done and so I cheated and ran the coloured image through the scanner so I had an image for the bag. I wasn’t as pleased with the result of that, and would colour it in seperately if I had had the time.

H HB Bag & Card

The ribbons and flowers are all from my stash. The die cut is from Cheery Lynn called Polynesian Ovals.

I distressed all around the edges of all the mats and layers and stitched most of them on my mini sewing machine.

Emily B'day Image 1

My Daughter was really pleased as somehow I managed to replicate her hair colour almost exactly on Hayley! As you can see she is a gorgeous shade of Auburn. I couldn’t find these colours in the copics, so went back to my old faithfuls, promarkers. Also the promarkers have the option of the fine tip nib, which came in handy with those pesky loose strands of hair.

Unfortunately you cannot see it in the pictures here but the roses on the little piglet and on Hayley, pus the hem of both their tutus was glittered with a sakura sparkle pen.

Lexi’s Creations #83 Love/Valentine

Today at Lexi’s Creations we want to see your projects with a Valentine/Love theme in mind.

We are sponsored by Joanna Sheen with a £10 gift voucher for her store.

As I don’t have anyone to send a valentine too {Everyone say Ahhhhhhhhh!} I have made the card below because it could also be used as a birthday card, which is in fact where it will end up!

83 Valentine

The image from LOTV is called Anniversary Surprise. I coloured it with copics. The papers are also from LOTV from the Nitwit paper pad called Promises. I usually pick my papers and then try to colour to match, but I had already coloured this image when the papers arrived. I was pleasantly surprised that the colours I hit on by accident matched one of the papers in the pad so well.

Image

The ribbon is a row of hearts I coloured with copics on the wrong side so that when I flipped it round the right way it left a mottled/variegated effect. The mat is Spellbinders Decorative Labels One and the branch is from Memory Box, called Lavish Branch. I trimmed off the tiny blossoms that were also on the die and replaced them with crystal hearts.

I am entering this into the following challenges:-

ABC - G for Going Dotty

This time at ABC our challenge is Going Dotty, so we want to see your projects with spots and dots.

We are sponsored by Little Darlings Rubber Stamps with 1 Little Darlings, or Cutie Pie Stamp and Marker Pop with a $20 gift voucher for their store.

G Going Dotty Dark

I have used a Saturated Canary stamp called ‘Jules’ and coloured her with various green copics. My papers are all from different digital kits, some of which I edged with peeled paint DI. The holographic dies are from Memory Box and the curles down the edges are the waste from the border die I used top and bottom of the card. The Dies beneath Jules are Marianne dies, and she is sitting on a diecut from Spellbinders.

G Image

The ribbon, pins and sparkly gemstone were all in my stash, although I coloured the pins and gemstone with some of the copics I used on the image so they would tone in. I also went over the dots on her dress and tights with a sakura sparkly pen and likewise her frilly petticoat and the bow in her hair. The pic below, although over exposed, shows up the glittery bits much better than can be captured by the camera in normal light.
