CCM 140 Stitching Faux or Real

Our challenge over at Crafty Cardmakers today is stitching. Your stitching can be real, or faux.

I used to embroider a lot on cards, but just got out of the habit. I had forgotten how relaxing it is to sit with the tv on in the background embroidering on a piece of card!

I cut a pretty mat out of one of the latest Heartfelt Creations paper pads called Peacock Paisley and pricked the butterfly pattern into the side of it. I then stitched it with 6 strand variegated cotton from a matching colour family.

I matted it onto some toning paper from the same pad.

I added glitter in turquoise and blue to the swirly parts of the feathers, and little gems in the eyes of the feathers. I also used a sakura stardust pen to highlight the flower, and added an orange gem to that. A couple of gems finished off the butterfly and finall I added a small sentiment from the same pad.

I am entering this into:-

A Gem of a Challenge – #145 Flowers
Crafty Catz – #281 Springtime
